I am one of those people who saves up all of my birchbox points for the year and then splurges at the end. I have had my eye on this Sunday Riley Good Genes for the LONGEST time now but haven’t ever wanted to cough up for the price! I mean hello I just think about all the coffee’s and little loves I could have plus textbooks cost me a small fortune. But during my trip New York in May I stopped into the Birchbox shop in SoHo to peak around and one of the ladies who works there was incredibly kind enough to show me around. I had brought up being interested in Good Genes and she just couldn’t stop raving about it. She actually ended up giving me a sample to try for the remainder of my trip (How nice right!!). Well immediately when I got home from the trip I took the plunge and used all of my banked points to get myself a bottle of this magical potion. That is truly what this product is, a magical potion in the cutest little glass bottle with a perfect gold top. I use it at night and while I am getting my much needed and not enough sleep and Good Genes is plumping my skin, helping to prevent fine lines and wrinkles as well as helping with hyper pigmentation that stubborn breakouts leave behind. Essentially making me feel perfect upon waking up, which who doesn’t want!
I am also one of those people who don’t change my skin care routine too often and when I am find something that works I tend to stick with it. I don’t jump on every new product that comes out (although I wish I could). So 5 months later and two bottle of Good Genes I would say that this is a keeper and the fact that I have repurchased this product means that its GOOD!
I know that the price puts a lot of people off but I would truly recommend going into Sephora or a store near you that carries it and ask for a sample. A little goes a very long way, I should mention the smell may seriously offend some people. From just about everyone that I have seen talk about this HATES and loathes the smell. I personally don’t mind it too much and think it just smells like lemongrass, but hey to each is own!
